Airfield De-Iceing
Knight Airfield De-icing equipment offers a complete solution for ice control on runways, aprons and walkways
The machines are designed for use with most popular airfield de-icing fluids and and can accurately apply from extremely low to very high application rates. A large storage tank of up to 8000 litres capacity and spray booms up to 36m wide offers quick and efficient de-icing of large areas.
A tandem axle, fully sprung chassis provides a well balanced, stable platform for high speed working. Full braking is standard and can be operated hydraulically or by air. High speed axles with full ABS are available for use with high speed prime movers. The lighting pack includes normal trailer lighting and extra warning lights for air-side safety. The spray boom is fitted with warning lights and beacons. High intensity working lamps are available for efficient operating at night.
The popular 24m boom is well suited to most airfield applications. Folding and unfolding is carried out from the operators cab. The boom can be folded to narrower working widths for spraying the more difficult parts of aprons etc.
The Knight Trailed De-icer can be towed by a number of different vehicles. Optional drawbar couplings include most popular hitches such as Rockinger or Nato standard. Drawbar height adjustment is available where a number of towing vehicles are likely to be encountered.
Drive for the unit can be provided by a diesel power pack with full cold weather protection down to -15 C . This power pack can be operated from the vehicle cab as part of the complete control package. Where the towing vehicle has appropriate external take off points the de-icer can be driven by a PTO shaft and/or an external hydraulic oil supply.
