The first demonstration event organised by Knight and Rabe since the two companies combined their sales organisations two years ago drew around 200 visitors to Great Casterton, Rutland, to see a wide range of machinery in action.

Knight put its M, C and SC cultivators through their paces, preparing fields for drilling spring barley.   All featured detachable tool-bars and Speed-Loc points in order to maximise the flexibility of each machine and increase its ability to be adapted to suit soil conditions and other factors.

One of the latest models at the two-day demonstration was a six-metre version of the M press, designed for lower horse-power tractors.  These machines, which can be teamed with Rabe’s MegaSeed drill to form the M-Drill, are already offered in three, four and five metre widths.  With its four tool-beams, the SC model fills the gap between the M press and the larger C press, which has five tool beams.

Also at the event were a selection of Knight sprayers, many with sophisticated control systems with features such as automatic boom levelling and section shut-off.

‘The Technology Days that we run at our factory are now well established and provide a lot of valuable technical information, but this demonstration event enables people to see machinery working in real field conditions’, said David Main, Knight’s sales manager.
