LATEST KNIGHT SELF-PROPELLED SPRAYER AT CEREALS
Knight Farm Machinery’s latest self-propelled sprayer, now with a choice of 5000 or 6000 litre tanks, was a big attraction for visitors to the company’s stand at Cereals this week.
The SP 2050 and SP 2060 models are based on a completely new design and include a number of innovative and advanced features that provide high standards of application accuracy, durability and operator comfort. Booms up to 40 metres wide can be fitted.
A new chassis design that incorporates active self-levelling air suspension and a roll stabilisation system gives excellent traction over uneven ground, as well as a smooth, comfortable ride at road speeds.
A 200hp Perkins engine drives through a Poclain Smartdrive system with electronic throttle control and transmission to four heavy-duty Poclain Dynaplus wheel motors. The wheel motors have dynamic braking activated by a foot pedal.
The cab, which has been designed and built in-house by Knight, is mounted on an independent linkage with air suspension to give an extremely comfortable ride for the operator. The fuel tank is positioned between the cab and the engine in order to minimise noise levels in the cab.
